How to Style your Classic Black Slip Dress
This slip dress from Shein has been sitting in my wardrobe for so long and I’m really excited to have whipped it out for this summer look (also a great fall transition look).
Here are 5 key pieces that can elevate your classic black slip dress from simple to elegant and stylish this summer!
Structured Blazer
Hanging a blazer over your shoulders gives an ultra modern and polished touch to any outfit; also if you’re like me and love dressing for summer weather but get cold when you’re indoors due to air conditioning, then a blazer is not just a fashionable addition but a necessity lol. This Zara blazer is a fave, the gold button details, round neck and structured fit of this blazer can transition almost any outfit into sophisticated instantly.
Statement Sunglasses
Throw on some oversized sunglasses! Accessorizing with sunglasses is something that I’m being more intentional about, and I’ve loved combing through every Sunglass Hut I come across in search of my next statement pair! These Gucci sunglasses are my favorite sunnies of the summer hands down, they scream I’m a 10 and I know it!
Layered Necklace
Because a silk dress is typically simple/understated, adding a layered necklace brings more dimension to the look and outfit. I’ve had this layered necklace I’m wearing here for a few years, I believe I got it from ASOS, it’s really great costume jewelry. Although I have not worn it that many times, I’m still very impressed with the durability.
White Purse
I went for this elegant off white Moschino purse (similar purse linked here) to add a freshness to the look, again with the gold details which matched the entire aesthetic of the ensemble (i.e. gold buttons on blazer, gold necklace, gold bracelet etc. etc. ).
Classic Mules
Mules are probably my favorite type of heels because they are both fashionable and comfortable - the absolute best combination! This particular pair is from Shein (similar linked here) and it’s very much giving sophisticated and stylish!
